Driestar Christian University for Teacher Education has a longstanding relationship with NLA University College in Norway, a University with campuses in Oslo, Bergen and Kristiansand.
Both universities participated in a grant application to the Norad aid fund (in Norway).
With the Norad grant, the teacher training programmes of both institutions wanted to share their knowledge with ECEC, a teacher training and school counselling centre in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The Theological University of Apeldoorn was also involved in this collaboration. This university was able to provide PhD supervision because of Professor Bram de Muynck's position as chair of Christian education.
To this end, TUA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NLA at the end of March. NLA officially appointed Prof De Muynck as professor of education at their institution.
This example shows how network contacts lead to services in other parts of the world years later.
